About this event
This time, we are pleased to welcome Gerit Tolborg, the CEO of Chromologics, a Danish biotech spin-out from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Gerit will share her experiences on coping with the challenges of meeting the high expectations and milestones that are defined initially after receiving the first VC investment.
How do you tackle many new tasks while remaining true to the company’s identity, and how do you ensure that you discover and recruit suitable candidates when expanding the team and taking it to the next level? Those are just some critical questions that Gerit will touch upon during her talk. She will take us behind the scenes of Chromologics journey towards demonstrating commercial traction of the company’s fungal biotech platform to produce novel and natural colorants.

About Gerit Tolborg, CEO and co-founder of Chromologics
Gerit Tolborg, CEO and co-founder of Chromologics, has an engineering degree from the Technical University of Berlin and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the Technical University of Denmark.
In 2016 she founded Chromologics during her Ph.D. at DTU Bioengineering after discovering a novel group of fungal pigments that could have commercial potential as novel food colors.
Since 2016 she has been the CEO of Chromologics, and together with her co-founder Anders Ødum has grown the start-up Chromologics into a VC-backed company with more than 10 employees and own labs and offices.
Gerit got motivated by the idea of moving her academic ideas out of the lab and into the market. Gerit Tolborg is among the few female CEOs of tech start-ups who’s successfully translating academic science into commercial products.
