During this session we will give a brief introduction to the general principles of data protection legislation as well as go through some of the most important definitions and aspects of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will apply from 25 May 2018.
Our focus will be on how companies like yourself can think the legislation in from the beginning, and how to overcome the hurdle of implementing the GDPR without using too many resources.
Diana Sofia Manrique de Lara is a junior associate with the law firm Horten in their department of Intellectual Property Rights and Technologies. Diana advises clients on regulatory aspect of data protection, online marketing and e-commerce as well as implementation and compliance related to the EU general data protection regulation.
Diana also work with enforcement and protection of intellectual property rights and media law including litigation.
Maria Pilh Arendsdorf Bengtsen is a junior associate at the lawfirm Horten and part of the department of Intellectual Property Rights and Technologies, where she daily advises clients on all aspects of data protection, including the upcoming GDPR.
Maria specialises in data protection legislation, marketing law and intellectual property rights such as trademarks, patent rights and copyright law. She also works with IT regulation and life science.
